Kim Dembrosky is a contemporary conceptual artist based out of Fort Worth, Texas. Born in 1983, she graduated magna cum laude from Southwestern University with a BFA in Studio Art. Her work is inspired by various movements such as Process Art, Pattern and Decoration, Data Art, Conceptual Art, and Abstract Expressionism. Her heroes include Sol LeWitt, Salvador Dali, Picasso, Robert Motherwell, Franz Kline, and Ives Klein among others. Maintaining a precarious balance between discipline and playfulness, she draws greatly upon her experiences living with Chan Buddhist monks in rural China, as well as her experiences as an emergency room nurse. In her free time, she likes to watch Red Dwarf, obsessively organize her studio, drink lagers with the guys, listen to heavy metal, and play pinball.
